A product for a lifetime of use!!!!

Unlike the more expensive slicing board made by another brand that arrived with cracks and that I returned, this one came very well packaged! It's sturdy, extremely well made, and it will be a joy to use! For everyday use, I ordered the smaller size because it's lighter, maneuverable in the sink for easy cleanup, yet still has plenty of space for slicing! The quality is superior. It's well put together and durable. No need to buy a different brand. Nothing negative to say here! Go ahead and order it, you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful board!

I needed to replace my cutting board. America’s Test Kitchen and Food & Wine both recommended this on as their favorite board. The board is smooth and has no discernible rough spots. It’s very thick and heavy and doesn’t slip on my countertop while in use. It’s extra large in size to handle a lot of prep work. The juice groove can handle any liquid from chopping. The board also has engraved grooves to ease lifting to move or clean the board. For the quality & appearance of the board, I feel the price was fair.

Functionality and value for money

Looks great and size is perfect for my counter! I ordered the 15” x 20” x 1.5” size. Just know it’s best to season the board with mineral oil and or a wax mineral oil combination before use. Look online for instructions from America’s best test kitchen. My cutting board in the photos have not yet been seasoned. I purchased a Boos brand 2-piece Care Set 16 Oz mystery oil & 5 oz Block board cream $25.95. No sponge, just use a cloth to apply the wax.PROs1. No Feet/2 Sided. One side with juice groove to catch juices, for cutting meats or juicy fruits, watermelon. The other for cutting, chopping vegetables or non-juicy items.2. America’s Test Kitchen Winner – Teak wood.3. No More Plastic Cutting Boards.Plastic shavings or dust can get in your food and be ingested and PFAS causes health concernsCONs:1. Maintenance.& CleaningTo avoid cracking wars and an optimal cutting surface, I plan to wax my board at least once a month regular maintenance.2. Cleaning..Be sure to wash both sides of the board and dry thoroughly as to not cause any warping on one side or the other. Then always store it standing on its side with good ventilation away from heat.In Conclusion:This teak board is moisture and mold resistant and looks beautiful. I did a lot of research and my first choice was the-more expensive, but worth it Larchwood maple, end grain cutting board from LarchwoodCanada.I recommend you buy this teahouse cutting board. It comes in various sizes and makes a beautiful and healthy way to prepare all your foods.Good health and joy!

Slice It, Dice It, Carve It...I have a Carving Board for You

Wanting to get away from plastic cutting boards, I chose to give this Teakhaus carving board a try and I am glad I did. It is a beautiful board using alternating wood colors. It was manufactured with a juice groove on one side, a totally flat side (my favorite), and includes depressions in each end that form handles that making lifting this substantila board a bit easier. As teak is a resilient wood, caring for this board should not be a big issue and I ordered mine with the associated oil to keep it in good shape. Looking forward to years of service!

Beautiful

I bought this to replace my old bamboo cutting board that my son took. This one is so beautiful. I was kinda bummed that Costco only offers the Xl for $50 but it’s to large for my apartment counter. So I got the large size at double the price but it really is beautiful and hopefully my other child doesn’t take this one. Lol

Even nicer in person

So far I really love this cutting board. I decided we were done with cheap plastic boards and started researching quality wooden cutting board. Went down quite the rabbit hole of research but landed on this edge grain teak. It was a nice compromise of durability, value and easy on knives. It’s much nicer looking in person than I expected. Gave it a quick wash and oiled the day before first use. I will update if needed in the future but I’m very impressed so far.

Outstanding work surface

I ended up having to purchase this board two times. The first one was unfortunately packed with a single 3' sheet of packing paper in the box with this 15+ pound slab of wood and arrived with multiple dents on one side that were severe enough that the board wouldn't lay flat with that side down. Fortunately the return/replacement process was fairly painless and the second board arrived unscathed.Shipping issues aside, this is a wonderful work surface for cutting tasks. It's heavy and flat enough that typical activity won't have it sliding around on the counter and after years of using smaller plastic cutting boards, it was positively luxurious to have such a large work area. The board arrived a bit dry, but a quick wash and pass with some mineral oil brought out the color and natural luster of the teak (as well as the natural warm spicy smell of the wood). Mine has a lot of variation between the individual pieces with some knots and dramatic streaks making up the finished board and is overall quite appealing to look at.Cleaning and care are simple, usually just requiring soap and warm water, but I admit that I don't cut meats on this board. The size does make it a tight fit in most sinks, but that should be the only hurdle.Highly recommended if you have the space for it.

Great quality

Perfect cutting board, I do feel a bit coplex about the size a bit big and heavy but it makes it better also.

Does not wobble/move during use

Large, heavy board, but easy to use and does not wobble at all. Could be hard to lift (because of weight) for some users. Handles make it easy to hold.

This cutting board is of good quality.

Pleased with the quality, and will use mineral oil to hopefully keep the wood moisturized and crack resistant. So far, I am pleased with the cutting board.
